Uttlesford Local Plan Main Modifications Consultation

Consultation Background

The Uttlesford Local Plan 2021-2041 was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination in December 2024. Subsequent Examination in Public hearing sessions were held between 9^th and 19^th June 2025. As a result of the examination thus far, the Planning Inspectors appointed to examine the Local Plan have recommended several modifications to make the plan sound and legally compliant. These are shown on the Schedule of Main Modifications that has been published for consultation and has been subject to a further Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulation Assessment.

The modifications are proposed without prejudice to the Inspectors final conclusions which will take account of all representations submitted in response to this consultation. Responses to the consultation will be sent directly to the Inspectors by the Council for review.

Please note: This consultation is strictly limited to representations on the Schedule of Main Modifications and associated documents listed below. It is not an opportunity to comment on any other aspects of the submitted Local Plan or re-submit previous representations, as these have already been considered by the Inspectors as part of the Examination in Public.

This form is split into three sections:

Part A - Contact Details (required)

You must provide your contact details. We are unable to accept anonymous comments. The names of respondents and submitted comments will be submitted to the Inspectors and published on the Council’s examination website. Personal information such as telephone numbers, addresses, and email addresses will not be published. 

Part B - Consultation Comments

This section will contain 50 opportunties for you to comment on the Main Modifications, Sustainability Appraisal, Habitats Regulation Assessment and Policies Map Modifications to the Submission Local Plan. 

If you have more comments than the 50 available in the form below, you will need to submit this survey and start a second survey. 

Part C - Additional Modification Comments

This section will contain a box where you can add any comments on the additional modifications. Please note that any comments on these will be dealt with internally by the Council, not the Planning Inspectors.
